Teams from the CRC stand out in the recent competition for CIHR grants

The results of the CIHR Project Grants for the Fall 2023 competition, known for its competitiveness, indicate that 4 proposals from CRC researchers have been successfully selected! 

 The selected projects are as follows: 

 Guy Poirier, in collaboration with Jean-Yves Masson and Michael J. Hendzel (Universisty of L’Alberta) 

  • Title: Emerging roles of Zinc Finger PAR-Interacting Proteins (ZIPPs) in DNA double-strand break (DSB) repair: implications in PARPi therapy More info 

 Jacques Simard, in collaboration with Jean-Yves Masson, Arnaud Droit, Antonis Antoniou and Douglas Easton (University of Cambridge) 

  • Title: Characterization of novel breast cancer susceptibility genes through large-scale targeted sequencing and functional assays More info 

 Sheng-Xiang Lin, in collaboration with Donald Poirier 

  • Title: Pre-clinical pharmacokinetic and efficacy assays with an efficient 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 7 inhibitor for breast cancer therapy More info 

 Tom Moss 

  • Title: The Ribosomal RNA Genes in Growth, Pluripotency, Senescence and Cancer More info
